SPECIFIC TO FLORIDA MASSAGE THERAPIST REGARDING REQUIRED LIVE CE HOURS for the 2025 RENEWAL CYCLE
For the 2023 AND 2025, Aug. 31, massage therapy renewal cycle, the FL Board of Massage Therapy has recognized the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and issued a temporary ruling allowing LMTs to obtain live classroom hours through a variety of methods – such as home study, video, digital media, distance learning, or in-person instruction. The choice is yours.
However, please take note of the following:
- For CE providers to offer these courses as live hours, they must be submitted for approval under the COVID-19 guideline. Whether as an initial submission or a re-submission, this process changes them to the live-hours category. If listed under the “general” hours category, you will not receive live credits. Before making a purchase, ensure that your provider has completed this approval process.
- We have secured this approval for the two pre-recorded webinars listed here. For your peace of mind, you can verify with CE Broker by providing them with the specific 20# attached to the course. Give them the 20# and ask them if it qualifies for live hours under “relevant to and focused on massage therapy technique, skills, and protocols” for this renewal cycle.
- It is important to note that this is expected to be the final renewal cycle in which LMTs can obtain live hours through these alternative methods.
