COURSE DESCRIPTION

This one-hour home study furnishes LMTs with the information needed to satisfy the Florida State Board of Massage Therapy's CE requirements on Human Trafficking.

No LMT likes that a fake massage business exists where they work or live. Few consider or know that the people working there are coerced and forced into modern-day slavery and wish they had a way out. Who would have thought that Florida healthcare professionals could play a role? How? You've heard of "See Something – Say Something. For massage therapists, places as innocent as condominiums, spas, and even continuing education seminars are places they might cross paths with trafficking victims. For nurses and doctors, it is clinics and emergency rooms. Having and using the information in this course could bring about considerable changes in a person's life, possibly saving lives.

Florida Board Approved 1-hour continuing education courses on human trafficking must address the following:

  • Sex trafficking.
  • Labor trafficking.
  • How to identify individuals who may be victims of human trafficking.
  • How to report cases of human trafficking.
  • Resources available to victims.
